I moved to Rome 2 years ago and I do unfortunately not speak very good Italian. Google have helped me to translate some of the forums and I hope you will allow me to write and answer in English.
I have a Land Cruiser 200 series that is the best town-car for Rome you can have (and possible the worst to park). I picked it up new as I was living in Dubai and I drove it here. It is a Middle East model without all the gadgets you find on the cars in Europe.
I have been living in Africa and Asia for nearly 20 years and used 4wd vehicles in my daily work on almost a daily bases. Most of the time Land Cruisers but also Patrols, Pajeros, Defenders and MB G class.
Expeditions are my interest. My car is far too big for mud and narrow tracks. I spent eight years in Dubai and I was out in the desert almost every weekend. I have read that some of you go to Sahara and the other North African countries and I really like to join you if there is a possibility.
I have some equipment and modifications to make the care even more competent. Among them, additional fuel tank, bull bars, bash plates, diff locks, winch, PC based navigation system, CB/VHF/UHF radio, etc.
Looking forward to read more on your forum and hopefully meet some of you in person.
Martin
